OPAL Play

OPAL

We are pleased to share the launch of the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) Play programme, an initiative focused on enhancing play opportunities to further enrich the daily school experience for our children.

Following our OfstedOutstanding’ inspection, we continue to strive for improvements and innovations to enhance the learning and experience of the children in our care. A key part of our work in Behaviour and Wellbeing is the introduction of OPAL Play, a journey that will last for 12 – 18 months to bring about sustainable and impactful change that benefits every child in their playtime.

For those curious about the OPAL Play programme, you can explore more about this award-winning initiative at OPAL Play’s official website. LINK HERE.

Having visited schools who have completed their introduction journey, we are excited by the prospect on what can be achieved and the positive outcomes it can create for our children going forward. This is a progressive journey of introduction that is designed purposefully so to bring about secure outcomes so stick with us as the journey takes shape over the 12 - 18 month time frame.

Having kickstarted our journey with our INSET in January, where staff engaged in training led by our OPAL Play Mentor, Kurti, our next step is to undertake a baseline audit, to ensure we are capturing the needs and desires of both our children and the wider school community.

We will keep our school community up to date with the progress of the project in the school newsletter and soon to be created designated web page on our school website – keep an eye out for these.

Kind regards
